Honda Development & Manufacturing of America is seeking a visionary Senior Principal Engineer in Marysville, OH to establish and lead engineering capabilities for the U.S. space industry, transferring proprietary space technologies from Japan and managing NASA-grade programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct U.S. space systems engineering, aligning development with NASA expectations and commercial missions.
- Establish a comprehensive Safety & Mission Assurance (SMA) framework meeting space industry standards.
- Scale internal testing facilities and external partner capabilities for space flight hardware qualification.
- Build and mentor a world-class multidisciplinary aerospace engineering team in North America.
- Lead technical know-how transfer from Honda Japan space research divisions to U.S. engineering units.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship required for space technology regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering.
- 10+ years of aerospace/space systems experience, with proven success leading NASA or commercial space programs.
- Deep expertise in space hardware/software qualification, space flight experiments, or mission architectures.
- Outstanding executive leadership, technical strategy formulation, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
