Job PurposeTechnician role critical to machining/manufacturing of stamping dies, aluminium die cast or plastic injection molds, and instrument panel jigs at all auto plants across North America using CAD/CAM NC programming. Analyze and modify 2D/3D drawings, models, and utilize CAD/CAM software to write NC data programs for CNC machines. Determine the process of machine operations for NC tool paths. Support new technology and technology transfer from Japan/North America development teams into production across North America production facilities.
Provide production and/or emergency support related to manufacturing issues in support of production.
- Ensures molds, dies, and jigs are running properly for production by following standard procedures.
- Partners with a more experienced Technician to troubleshoot and repair tooling and leverages knowledge gained from training to begin independent troubleshooting of “low” risk items.
- Proactively looks for/identifies potential for process and quality improvement and calls to attention of Supervisor; may occasionally participate in developing recommendations.
- Supports new model activity, as assigned by project leader and/or Leadership.
- Participates in checks, tests, trials etc. under supervision of more experienced Technicians and/or Leadership.
- Utilizes assistance of other Technicians assigned to the job, as appropriate.
Minimum Education al Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 Years of Related Experience (machining, NC/numerical control programming CAD/CAM) or qualifying degree.
- CAD/CAM software experience (TEBIS)
- Large to medium NC/numerical control Machining Center operation. Medium to large stamping die, or injection mold machining experience. Basic computer skills, ie:
Word, PPT, Excel and etc. - “At Machining” programming experiences (G-code)
- This role requires Associate to utilize CAD/CAM software (TEBIS) to create, modify, and verify NC/numerical control Data programs for CNC/computer numerical control machines to precisely cut Die-Mold or Die-Cast related parts. Occasional travel to plants for support or training may be required. Overtime, weekend, and holiday work is a requirement to be successful in this position.
