What will the Parts Clerk do?

• Responsible for parts room and inventory.
• Ordering, receiving and cataloging parts.
• Ensuring that parts are charged out on return orders.
• Ensuring that purchase orders are issued, processed and received.
• Assist shop mechanics with obtaining and ordering parts in a timely manner.
• Retain warranty parts for return to vendor as requested by Warranty Department.

What knowledge, skills and abilities are required for the Parts Clerk role?

• Must possess mechanical aptitude.
• Computer proficient.
• Comfortable working in a fast pace environment and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal skills with peers, staff and external service locations.
• Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving.
• Basic knowledge of how to obtain parts to support repair facilities if needed.
• Must be well organized and detail oriented.
• Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and strain when performing essential duties.
• Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with time constraints, interruptions and under pressure
• Work may require more than 40 hours per week.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit/stand for most of his/her job duties. There is a need to frequently walk. There will be a moderate amount of standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting and reaching for some of his/her job duties.

Visual requirements include reading off a computer screen as well as printed materials. A high degree of dexterity is required due to frequent use of a telephone console.

Verbal and auditory requirements include the ability to communicate clearly over the telephone as well as in person.

There is a moderate level of grasping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling of objects of less than 50 lbs.
