Job DescriptionOverview
The Calibration Technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, traceability, and timely calibration of measurement tools and equipment used across the manufacturing environment. This role will coordinate external calibration services, maintain internal calibration standards (e.g., gage blocks and scales), and verify that shop floor tools meet company and industry requirements aligned with AS9100D Clause 7.1.5.
Experience
: 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality assurance environment with exposure to calibration programs. Familiarity with using and maintaining common shop measurement tools such as calipers (digital and dial), micrometers, tape measures, height gages, scales and balances. Experience coordinating with external ISO 17025-accredited calibration vendors. Background in aerospace, automotive, or other regulated industries preferred.
- Ensure accuracy, traceability, and timely calibration of measurement tools and equipment across the manufacturing environment.
- Coordinate external calibration services and maintain internal calibration standards.
- Verify shop floor tools meet company and industry requirements aligned with AS9100D Clause 7.1.5.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in metrology, precision measurement, quality assurance, or related field preferred.
- Working knowledge of calibration principles and measurement uncertainty.
- Understanding of traceability concepts and national standards (e.g., NIST).
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems is beneficial.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic data entry for calibration logs.
