SUMMARY

Assists the Director of Cross Country/Track and Field in carrying out all assigned and auxiliary duties of cross country and track and field, while serving as the primary coach for sprints, hurdles and relays and secondarily with jumps. This position is a Campus Security Authority (CSA) as defined by the Clery Act.

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field, required.
• College track and field student athlete competition experience, preferred.
• 2 – 3 years’ experience coaching or training, required.

• Coaching effectively in practice and competition.
• Establishes good rapport and generates respect among students, campus colleagues, and the local community by conducting oneself in an ethical manner.
• Assists in the selection, training, and supervision of student assistants and managers.

• Complies fully with NCAA, Collegiate Conference of the South, and Maryville College policies.
• Promotes an atmosphere of compliance and student‑athlete academic performance.
• Assists in filing all reports relative to track and field as assigned by the head coach.

• Assists in the recruiting of all potential student-athletes.
• Maintains office hours as assigned by the head coach.
• Serve as a Game Manager for select home athletic events.

• Attends all practices, meetings, and contests.
• Assists in the supervision, scheduling, and maintenance of facilities.
• Assists in the organization and supervision of all off‑campus trips.

• Supports the overall goals of the track and field program by contributing to long‑term planning, sustainability, and program growth as directed by the head coach.
