Overview
We are inspired to serve. Join us! The Line Cook will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events. The cook will produce small to large batch goods using advanced classical cooking techniques in a Senior Living / Healthcare environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare and cook foods to order, including a la carte items and operating a grill station.
- Follow recipes and product directions for seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foods.
- Measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat, poultry, or fish for culinary use.
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, and keep accurate production records and requisition supplies and equipment.
- Attend all allergy and foodborne illness training and apply food safety principles to preparation and sanitation practices.
- Receive inventory and lift foodstuffs and supplies to prepare meals for customers requiring special diets.
- Take and record temperatures and correct temperature discrepancies.
- Plate food as ordered with attention to appearance and garnish.
- Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment, following all regulatory rules and procedures.
- Assist with set‑ups, break down and clean up serving lines, and properly record and label with appropriate dates and store properly.
- Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures, and participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
- High school diploma required.
- Current Food Handler's Permit required;
Serv Safe training beneficial; state sanitation certificate preferred. - 3-4 years of related and advanced food service and cooking experience desired.
- Experience with basic operation of kitchen equipment preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced knife experience required.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and safety practices and work unsupervised.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Dependable, detail oriented, organized, and able to work within standard policy and procedures with limited direct supervision.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequent stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, and extended periods standing and walking for up to 8 hours.

Pay range: $15.76 - $19.07 per hour.
