• The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all persons, equipment, and physical property of Mosaic Life Care.
• This position works under the supervision of the Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System.

• Conducting patrols of the buildings and grounds, ensuring adequate access control and protection of caregivers and all Mosaic Life Care properties, and able to respond to an armed threat, and bring a safe resolution to the threat or situation.
• Conducting inspections of the facilities looking for unsafe acts and/or conditions, which threaten life safety.
• Able to operate in a stressful environment where person/persons have experienced life threatening injuries and death.
• Controlling persons experiencing behavior that is unacceptable via non‑violent physical crisis intervention techniques (CPI) or the approved Force Continuum action, or other accepted practices dependent upon the circumstances.
• Respond and investigate incidents in a timely manner and effectively document the facts of the case, take photos of the crime scene and secure any evidence.
• Other duties as assigned

• H.S. Diploma or GED or HiSET equivalent required. Two years college, preferably in criminal justice, or Fire Safety and or Post Certified Police Academy preferred.
• Driver's License - Valid Minimum of a Class E Chauffeurs Driver's License and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and HAZMAT Training are required and must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Completion of the International Association of Hospital Safety and Security basic Security Officer Exam within 120 days is preferred.
• 2 Years in a Position dealing with the public, preferably in the Law Enforcement, Fire Safety, Military Security, Federal (DHS Department of Homeland Security) required.
