Mercy One North Iowa Medical Center, on behalf of the Mason City Clinic, has an excellent full-time opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Sleep Medicine Physician located in Mason City, Iowa.

The Sleep Medicine physician works as a single department and has autonomy over the practice. The Sleep Medicine department works within the ENT department working closely with patients that have received INSPIRE. This opportunity has an already busy and thriving practice. The current physician is looking to retire and would provide mentorship to the incoming physician. Within Mason City are 2 sleep labs;
Midwest Sleep Services and Mercy One Sleep Services.

Mason City is a family friendly community of approximately 30,000. Our service area encompasses about a 15-county area which consists of a patient population of about 260,000. MCC is a multi-specialty physician group without primary care. All of our physicians are specialists.

Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Evaluates patients. In doing so, reviews and interprets patients health history, and other appropriate tests to determine diagnosis.
• Based on results of patients evaluation, develops, and implements treatment plan and provides education to patients.
• Management of sleep diagnoses for both new and established patients.
• Interpret both home and lab studies for patients.
• Recognizes abnormal patient responses to treatment, surgery and/or medication and implements corrective actions as appropriate.
• Documents all aspects of care provided. Completes paperwork necessary to assure payment for services rendered.
• Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate articles, journals, and related material, and by attending seminars, conferences and so forth.
