Continuing Education Assistant (Part-time), NIACC Career Center – Charles City
CATEGORY/LEVEL: Part-time (approximately 22 hours per week)
BASIC FUNCTION: Provide quality customer service to the public and support to key staff.
START DATE:ASAP
SALARY:$15.00 per hour, not to exceed 29 hours per week. Hours of this position are Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., with some evenings as needed. This position is not eligible for benefits.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalency, proficient computer skills, attention to detail, strong organizational and customer service skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Provide a positive, student-centered environment.
• Greet and assist walk-in customers.
• Communicate effectively and build relationships with students and team members.
• Proctor the CASAS assessment, ALEX assessment, and HiSET official practice test.
• Assist students with completing the interest forms for ESL and HSE.
• Assist students with scheduling HiSET exams.
• Assist with HSE orientations as needed.
• Assist with the student evaluation process each session.
• Make copies and organize material for Adult Education instructors.
• Mail AEL orientation packets and graduation letters.
• Assist with NIACC Workforce Academy Orientation sessions as needed.
• Mail Workforce Academy Student Orientation packets.
• Register students by phone or in person.
• Enter grades and attendance in Lumens for AEL and other programs.
• Maintain strong organizational skills, demonstrate reliability, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Fulfill other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.
