The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in a clinical setting. The role requires sound judgment, clinical expertise, and proficiency in using ultrasound equipment to produce accurate imaging results. This position also involves working closely with radiologists and staff physicians by providing relevant clinical findings to assist in interpretation.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic ultrasound studies according to established protocols and professional standards.
- Operate ultrasound equipment safely and effectively to obtain high-quality images.
- Assess findings during examinations and recognize any abnormalities requiring additional imaging or clinical attention.
- Assist radiologists and physicians by providing relevant information for interpretation of ultrasound results.
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the examination process.
- Participate in maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues, and reporting malfunctions.
- Follow all departmental policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Days:
Monday-Friday - Shift: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (rotating between 8- and 10-hour shifts)
- Weekly
Hours:
36 - No weekends required unless otherwise specified.
- Minimum 1 year of ultrasound experience.
- Proficiency with Epic and GE Centricity PACS preferred.
- Ability to perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations with precision.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound imaging principles.
- Ability to assess clinical findings and communicate effectively with physicians.
- Strong patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diagnostic imaging team.
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)
- RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) preferred or required depending on department needs
