The Telemetry Technician provides ongoing observation and interpretation of cardiac rhythms; prepares and maintains telemetry records and maintains a functioning telemetry system.
What you will do- Observes and interprets cardiac rhythms.
- Records ECG strips at designated intervals and as changes occur.
- Prints cardiac rhythm strips as needed.
- Notifies RN of all changes in rhythm and heart rate.
- Maintains telemetry records.
- Ensures proper functioning of telemetry system.
- Troubleshoots equipment problems.
- Updates Communication Board.
- Communicates with internal/external customers/colleagues in a courteous, positive, empathic, and professional manner.
- Displays excellent telephone etiquette.
- Speaks to everyone. Always communicates with care. Speaks calmly, clearly, and courteously. Stops and listens when a customer/colleague speaks.
- Communicates consistently with colleagues in a professional and respectful manner and accepts assignments willingly.

Minimum Qualifications- Education:
High school education or equivalent - Experience:
Demonstrated competence working with patients is preferred.
- Communicates effectively.
- Demonstrates ability to understand and follow direction.
- Demonstrates responsiveness to needs of patients, families, peers and professional staff.
- Demonstrates continuous application of proper body mechanics.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Demonstrates the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms.
- Demonstrates basic computer skills.
- Must display proper telephone etiquette.
