The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows all company best‑practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate is expected to be engaged during all working hours and may be requested to perform additional tasks as needed to achieve customer service and operational goals.
EssentialFunctions
- Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors in everything the Associate does.
- Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe environment, keep egress clear, and immediately report or correct unsafe conditions.
- Treat all customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; be friendly and professional at all times.
- Assist customers—be register‑trained, help with merchandise, answer questions politely and knowledgeably, and greet customers with eye contact, a smile, and a “hello”.
- Respond promptly to customer service calls and handle all issues in a courteous and helpful manner, calling store leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas.
- Adhere to the Company’s dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
- Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery per best practice to keep the store neat, clean, and well‑merchandised.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor quickly, merchandising all items per monthly presentation guidelines and maintaining brand familiarity.
- Understand the Loss Prevention Awareness program, Shortage Highway, and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions, safeguarding confidential information, cash, credit card data, and merchandise.
- Follow all Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock policies and proper disposal procedures.
- Follow all policies for cash, check, charge‑card, and refund transactions, maintaining accuracy with bankable tenders.

- Effectively communicate with customers, Associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
- Specific assignments may require additional qualifications and skills.
- Stockroom shifts: regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
