The Accounting Manager oversees all daily accounting operations, including billing, AP/AR oversight, reconciliation accuracy, system maintenance, collections, Month‑end close and financial reporting. This position manages a team of specialists and ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of all financial transactions.
Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise and mentor a team of accounting specialists responsible for AP/AR, billing, and expense processing.
- Manage the company’s billing, collections, and customer account reconciliations, ensuring timely follow‑up and accurate application of payments.
- Oversee accounts payable and vendor management, including invoice processing, approvals, and payment schedules.
- Review and approve accounts receivable (AR) transactions, cash applications, and deposits.
- Prepare and review monthly billing and collection reports; monitor aging reports and resolve discrepancies proactively.
- Coordinate and support month‑end close and financial reporting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional departments (Sales, Operations, and HR) to ensure accurate financial data flow.
- Assist with payroll and benefits processing and payments.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and providing documentation as needed.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency across accounting functions.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support management decisions.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
- CPA preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (Acumatica preferred).
- Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
