Manufacturing Engineer
Atri Cure, Inc. is a medical device company and a leader in developing, manufacturing and selling innovative cardiac surgical ablation systems designed to create precise lesions in cardiac tissue for the treatment of atrial fibrillation, or AF, and systems for the exclusion of the left atrial appendage. Cardiothoracic surgeons are adopting Atri Cure's ablation products for the treatment of AF during concomitant open-heart surgical procedures and sing‑therapy minimally invasive procedures.
AF affects more than 33 million people worldwide and predisposes them to a five-fold increased risk of stroke. The FDA has not cleared or approved certain Atri Cure products for the treatment of AF or a reduction in the risk of stroke.
The Equipment Specialist is a technical position assuming various years of experience. This job requires advanced technical skills as well as hands‑on experience in machining, turning, grinding, and other metalworking fabrication methods. This position requires the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand geometric tolerancing. Additionally, this position requires the ability to perform conversational programming on knee mills and lathes.
ROLESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Able to work on tasks encompassing complete projects or portions of projects under the guidance of a Senior Equipment Specialist or Management
- Requires ability to fabricate parts of moderate to significant levels of complexity with efficiency and accuracy
- Requires ability to solve problems of significant scope and complexity
- Works under general supervision
- Requires ability to specify materials used to fabricate fixtures and tools
- Requires ability to effectively train Technicians and Associates on the proper use of fixtures and equipment
- Fabricate, assemble and debug fixtures, gages, and tooling to facilitate efficient assembly of products
- Verify accuracy of work utilizing various measuring techniques
- Work with Tooling Engineers to specify materials for equipment
- Demonstrated exceptional mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrated ability to work to tight tolerances (+/- .0005")
- Undergraduate degree, vocational school, or related experience
- 3+ years of experience in a comparable position
- Machining experience
- Computer/data entry skills
- Verbal communication skills
- Problem solving/troubleshooting experience
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Assembly experience
- Basic CAD experience
- Engineering/design background
- Basic Master Cam Knowledge
- Regularly walk, sit, stand, bend, and push/pull
- Regularly lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift over 25 pounds
- 0% travel possibility
