Job Summary
The Engineering Co-Op supports the Engineering Team by creating and maintaining shop and fabrication drawings using CAD software. This role is designed for individuals eager to grow their technical skills and become a valuable contributor to the team.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Drafting
- Learn to interpret architectural and structural drawings to extract relevant information.
- Continuously improve proficiency in CAD software.
- Integrate standard components into design drawings.
- Generate CAD drawings from sketches, blueprints, or digital files.
- Modify drawings based on verbal or written feedback.
Work Management
- Adhere to project schedules and meet key milestones.
- Follow project checklists to maintain consistency and quality throughout the workflow.
- Attend and actively participate in project status meetings.
- Provide assistance to the Engineering Team as directed.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in project team meetings and contribute to discussions.
- Collaborate closely with assigned team members to complete tasks efficiently.
- Develop and update CAD drawings based on project requirements.
- Ensure timely completion of all assigned work.
- Provide support to shop personnel during the manufacturing process.
- Follow established company procedures and standards.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of architectural and structural drawings.
- Familiarity with engineering and architectural principles, including concrete and steel structures.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues and implement effective solutions.
- Clear communication of technical concepts and ability to manage conflict constructively.
- Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
