Position DetailsFull Time – All Work Shifts, 40 hours per week.
Job SummaryThe Pharmacy Operations Manager supports the Director of Pharmacy in managing pharmacy operations. The manager implements and enforces policies and procedures, supervises and trains staff, manages inventory, ensures quality assurance and regulatory compliance, and assists when the Pharmacy Director is unavailable.
Essential Functions- Provides management and oversight of pharmacy-related activities within the department and supports system-level initiatives involving change and pharmaceutical care across the hospital.
- Selects, trains, orients, and assigns department staff to schedules; develops performance standards, evaluates performance, and initiates recommendations for personnel actions.
- Assesses and standardizes medication dispensing practices and pharmacy workflows and encourages team member growth and development.
- Develops and actively participates in training and mentorship programs for pharmacists, pharmacy students, residents, technicians, nurses, and physicians.
- Works with the Pharmacy Director to identify and develop processes to meet or exceed all regulatory standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS or Pharm
D (required). Advanced pharmacy degree – Doctor of Pharmacy, Masters, Residency (preferred).
Pharmacist Licensure – State Board of Pharmacy (required).
Experience3 years of experience in a progressive hospital or healthcare system pharmacy leadership role (preferred).
Skills & Abilities- Demonstrates leadership competencies and skills for the position, including excellent communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, and decision making.
- Possesses extensive knowledge of clinical practice or function and a thorough understanding of the organization and work environment.
