JBS is seeking an hourly 1ST SHIFT Quality Lead Team Member! Position starts at $24 per hour.

- Conduct quality assurance testing and accurately document products and raw materials on the plant floor, including in‑process and finished product checks to ensure compliance with specifications and temperature requirements.
- Verify labels to meet regulatory requirements (tare weights, UPC codes, legibility, establishment number, pricing and correct product identification).
- Inspect incoming ingredients for compliance with visual and temperature standards.
- Confirm sell‑by dates and product dates on product runs.
- Investigate and determine causes of quality defects, communicating findings with production teams.
- Analyze facts or circumstances surrounding problems to perform root‑cause analysis and recommend preventive measures.
- Coordinate activities across departments to ensure quality department coverage and communicate when products are out of specification.
- Assist in validating plant‑wide compliance with GMPs and employee safety rules.
- Help implement preventive measures through root‑cause analysis.
- Train new team members as needed.
- Work independently or within a team.
- Assemble daily reports and related paperwork.
- Maintain current knowledge of GMPs, SOPs, standards, policies, procedures and product specifications.
- Verify calibration of equipment.
- Maintain communication and updates as required by leadership.
- Perform detailed inspections, testing and documentation.
- Direct and lead employees involved in inspection and quality procedures to achieve standards.
- Assist in planning and execution of quality team work.
- Maintain morale and harmonious relations among subordinates.
- Evaluate and communicate personnel performance or training needs.
- Maintain accurate quality records, inspections and reports.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience in food manufacturing and/or quality preferred.
- Ability to speak, read and write English.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Well organized with strong attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Adaptable, dependable and able to follow direction.
- Professional attitude and appearance.
- Ability to work independently or as a team and apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions and communicate findings with QA, production leads and supervisors.
Validating manufacturing work on the plant floor, standing for long hours, bending, stooping and lifting.
HearingMust be able to hear average or normal conversations and occasionally handle loud background noise.
Repetitive MotionMust frequently and regularly use wrists, hands or fingers.
Visual AbilitiesAverage visual acuity is necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products or operate machinery.
Physical StrengthRegularly or frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Working ConditionsWork long hours in a food processing environment that is loud, wet, damp and cold (~34°F). Employees are expected to remain in these conditions throughout the workday.
