Position: QUALITY LEAD 1ST SHIFT- $24 PER HOUR

Quality Lead 1st Shift – $24 per hour

Join JBS USA as a Quality Lead on the 1st shift, responsible for ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance across the plant floor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality assurance testing and accurately document products and raw materials on the plant floor, including:
    • In-process and finished product quality checks to meet specifications and temperature requirements
    • Label verification for regulatory compliance (tare weights, UPC codes, legibility, establishment number, pricing, and product identification)
    • Incoming ingredient visual and temperature compliance
    • Sell-by and product dates on product runs
  • Investigate and determine the cause of quality defects, communicating findings to the production team with root‑cause analysis and preventive measures
  • Coordinate activities with other leads and supervisors to ensure Quality Department coverage and timely reporting of product out‑of‑specification conditions
  • Assist in validating plant-wide compliance with GMPs and employee safety rules, and implement preventive measures when necessary
  • Train new team members and work independently or as part of a team as needed
  • Assemble daily reports, paperwork, and blue label sheets; stay current on GMPs, SOPs, standards, policies, procedures, and product specifications
  • Verify equipment calibration and maintain accurate quality records, including inspection reports
  • Lead a group of employees involved in inspection and quality procedures for in-process material and finished products, ensuring quality standards are achieved
  • Plan and support quality team work, maintain morale, communicate performance or training needs, and provide ongoing leadership
  • Assume additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in food manufacturing and/or quality preferred
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Strong math skills
  • Well‑organized with meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrates strong work ethics and a positive attitude
  • Adaptable, dependable, and able to follow direction
  • Professional appearance and helpful demeanor
  • Capable of working independently or as a team and applying common sense in communicating findings with QA & Production Leads and Supervisors
Work Environment

Activities: Validating manufacturing work on the plant floor; standing for long hours; bending, stooping, and lifting.

Hearing: Must be able to hear average or normal conversations, occasionally amid loud background noise.

Repetitive Motion: Must be able to frequently use wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Visual Abilities: Average visual acuity required to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery.

Physical Strength: Regularly or frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions: Must work for long hours in a food processing environment that is loud, wet, damp, and cold (temperatures around 34 °F). Employees are expected to remain in these conditions throughout the workday.
