Position OverviewAs a Freight Account Executive, you will play a key role in growing our customer base and deepening relationships with current clients. You’ll act as a sales hunter, customer relationship manager, and logistics problem-solver all in one. Your success will be driven by your ability to source freight, build trust, and manage freight execution from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities- Sales & Business Development
- Prospect and onboard new customers via calls, emails, networking, and referrals.
- Manage a sales pipeline and hit weekly/monthly sales goals.
- Understand client needs and tailor transportation solutions accordingly.
- Account Management
- Build long-term relationships with customers through responsive service and consistent communication.
- Maintain knowledge of customers’ lanes, volumes, seasonality, and service preferences.
- Operational Coordination
- Work closely with dispatch, carrier sales, and customer service to ensure loads are covered and delivered on time.
- Monitor shipments proactively and resolve issues as they arise.
- Provide rate quotes, negotiate pricing, and secure capacity.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure accurate data entry of all load and customer information into TMS.
- Maintain required documentation in accordance with DOT and company policies.
- 5+ years of experience in freight brokerage, trucking, logistics sales, or 3PL.
- Strong book of business is a plus (but not required).
- Self-starter with a competitive spirit and results-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
- Experience working with TMS platforms and CRM systems.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
