Senior Superintendent

Experienced construction leader responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all on-site construction activities for large, complex projects. The Senior Superintendent ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, on budget, and meet quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with the General Contractor, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage daily site operations, including supervision of subcontractors, crews, and site logistics to ensure safe, efficient progress.
• Develop, maintain, and execute detailed site schedules; coordinate sequencing with trade partners and the General Contractor to achieve milestone dates.
• Enforce safety standards and OSHA requirements on site; lead safety meetings, inspections, and corrective actions to maintain a zero-harm culture (OSHA 30 preferred).
• Review and manage RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings; coordinate timely responses and maintain accurate documentation.
• Prepare, review, and track change orders and project documentation; collaborate with project controls and the GC to resolve scope or cost issues.
• Conduct daily jobsite walkthroughs and quality inspections; ensure workmanship and installations comply with contract documents, specifications, and quality programs.
• Participate in pre-construction planning, subcontractor selection, and constructability reviews; provide input on means and methods to optimize schedule and cost.
• Coordinate with client representatives, owners, consultants, and trade partners on multifamily and healthcare projects to meet program and regulatory requirements.
• Manage material deliveries, on-site storage, and logistics to minimize downtime and protect installed work.
• Mentor and develop site leadership and field staff; promote teamwork, productivity, and professional development.
• Prepare progress reports, look-aheads, and meeting minutes for the GC and project management team; communicate issues and recovery plans proactively.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of field construction experience with at least 5 years as a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent on medium to large projects.
• Proven experience in multifamily and healthcare construction projects, including knowledge of regulatory and infection control requirements for healthcare environments.
• OSHA 30 certification required; strong commitment to jobsite safety and safety program implementation.
• Demonstrated track record managing RFIs, submittals, and change order processes in a GC environment; proficiency with Procore or similar construction management platforms.
• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and craft crews.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; capable of interfacing with owners, architects, engineers, and the GC.
• Proficient with scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera P6 or equivalent) and ability to produce schedule look-aheads and recovery plans.
• Solid understanding of construction means and methods, read and interpret drawings and specifications, and perform quality inspections.
• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred; or relevant trade background with progressive responsibility.
• Valid drivers license; willingness to travel between job sites as required.
