Overview

The Assistant Customer Service Manager supports front-end operations by assisting the Customer Service Manager in overseeing daily store activities and ensuring customer satisfaction through skill development and on-the-job training for front-end associates. This role adheres to company policies and standards to maintain program, procedure, and policy compliance. The individual fosters a friendly atmosphere, treating customers and associates like family.

Starting pay: $19.40 per hour

Minimum Qualifications

  • Passionate about people and committed to customer service excellence.
  • Successful experience with company training programs.
  • Initiative, ability to work independently, make decisions, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, confident, with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse backgrounds and levels of authority.
  • Serv Safe certified.
  • Meet age regulations for sale of alcohol and tobacco.
  • Proficient in English reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.
  • Flexible schedule based on store needs.
  • Proficiency with computer programs relevant to front-end operations.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Responsibilities

    The following essential functions are not exhaustive and may be supplemented:

  • Promote a service-oriented image, ensuring courteous and efficient customer interactions, and resolving complaints satisfactorily.
  • Maintain an open-door environment to boost morale and customer service quality, managing in a respectful, supportive, and team-oriented style.
  • Work with associates to build a strong customer service team based on the "Golden Rule".
  • Support and direct customer service associates for smooth front-end operations.
  • Ensure new associates complete onboarding and training effectively.
  • Foster high morale by treating all staff fairly and consistently.
  • Assist in scheduling to meet service standards and budget goals while adhering to wage and hour laws.
  • Oversee prompt and accurate customer checkouts.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Work with management to minimize expenses and control shrinkage.
  • Communicate operational needs and issues to management, including price discrepancies.
  • Assist in recognizing and coaching outstanding performance.
  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, sanitation, and productivity standards are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Secondary Functions

    • Understanding of POS systems and troubleshooting skills.

    Physical Demands & Safety Risks

    Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 250 lbs, and frequent standing, walking, and handling tasks. Safety risks involve exposure to loud noise, slippery surfaces, hazardous equipment, and chemicals. Working conditions vary between indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in extreme temperatures.
