CCVS is a thriving 24‑hour emergency and specialty hospital with two locations—Buzzards Bay and South Dennis—serving a combined annual caseload of over 19,000 cases.
Residents work alongside more than 30 veterinarians, including 25 board‑certified specialists across a wide range of disciplines.
Our current team includes:

- 1 Anesthesiologist (ACVAA)
- 1 Dermatologist (ACVD)
- 1 Zoological Medicine Specialist (ACZM)
Residents benefit from daily cage‑side rounds, direct mentorship from criticalists and surgeons, and collaboration with six ACVS diplomates who provide advanced emergency surgical training. The Future of CCVS:
Expansion in 2027
CCVS is growing, physically and professionally. In early 2027, our Buzzards Bay hospital will complete a major expansion to include increased clinical space, enhanced ICU capacity, and three new specialty services:
Neurology, Ophthalmology, and Dentistry. The expansion will also bring additional specialists to our existing departments, further elevating cross‑disciplinary learning and research opportunities for our residents.
Life Beyond the Hospital:
Located at the gateway to Cape Cod, our hospitals offer proximity to beaches, sailing, kayaking, and hiking, as well as easy access to Boston and Providence—both about an hour away. The region provides a rare blend of coastal relaxation and urban convenience, making it an ideal environment for balance and professional focus.
