Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM | 3540 hours/week
The Substantially Separate Special Education Teacher will provide intensive, individualized instruction and support to students in Pre-K through 4th grade, as well as Elementary and High School students at a charter school located about 20 miles from Boston.
In this self-contained classroom setting, you will:
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans tailored to students' academic, social, and behavioral needs.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to promote students' academic and social growth.
- Support students with significant disabilities, including nonverbal students, students on the autism spectrum, students prone to tantrums or running, and wheelchair bound students.
The ideal candidate is a licensed Special Education Teacher passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of students who require intensive support.
What You Need- Valid Massachusetts Teaching License with Special Education (Moderate Disabilities) certification
- Eligible to teach in MA through DESE
- Bachelor's degree required;
Master's preferred - Designs & delivers individualized instruction for students with disabilities
- Knowledge of MA Special Education laws and IEP development
- Classroom experience Monday-Friday, structured setting
- Experience with students who are nonverbal, on the autism spectrum, prone to tantrums, runners, or wheelchair bound preferred
