Develops and optimizes economical manufacturing processes to maximize quality and productivity. Responsible for system development, specifications maintenance and process improvement. Acts as the lean process improvement leader for the business. Investigates and initiates corrective action on manufacturing problems arising in the manufacture of materials and products. Effectively transitions new products into the production process. Develops control plans and investigates quality problems using sound analytical analysis.
Develops processes and procedures that include safe working practices and are environmentally friendly.
Job Model: On-Site
On-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts.
Responsibilities- Reviews and evaluates proposed and processed engineering changes and/or other specification requirements.
- Creates and updates process specifications, procedures and work instructions.
- Test new engineering techniques and design cost efficient equipment.
- Evaluates and tests new and/or alternative materials.
- Review and recommend changes to materials and manufacturing processes in order to maintain and improve the quality of the product lines.
- Analyze technical issues, generate and deliver, both orally and in writing, technical papers.
- Apply sound engineering principles and solve difficult technical/quality problems or issues with raw materials, manufacturing processes and quality of product lines.
- Skilled in analyzing technical issues, creating and delivering technical reports both orally and in written form.
- Develop appropriate systems for solving quality and reliability problems.
- Review and recommend changes to materials and manufacturing processes.
- Evaluates and tests new or alternative materials.
- Recommend, plan and execute changes in layout of production facilities and equipment.
- Expert in Lean Continuous Improvement techniques. Leads and/or participates in continuous improvement teams.
- Advanced knowledge of set-up reduction techniques and process improvement methods
- Works closely with R&D to ensure smooth transition of new products to production.
- Must adhere to the safety requirements for the various mfg. areas including use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
