Department Size: 17 full-time officers, 5 part-time officers, 1 administrative staff member
Accreditation: M.P.A.C. Accredited Agency
The Manchester-by-the-Sea Police Department is seeking highly motivated, experienced Police Officers to join its progressive, community-focused, and accredited agency. Applicants must be MPTC full-time academy-trained/bridge-certified and dedicated to providing superior public safety services.
Minimum Qualifications- Having completed a Massachusetts MPTC Full‑Time Police Academy (per MGL Chapter 41, Section 96B), will consider Bridge Academy certified officers
- Hold at least a high school diploma
- Have no felony convictions
- Possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license
- Reside within 25 miles of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA
- Be 21 years of age or older at the time of appointment
- Be available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays (24/7 operation)
- Demonstrate strong integrity, communication skills, and problem‑solving ability
- Successfully pass background investigation, medical exam, and psychological screening
- Starting salary: $63,402.56 – $86,655.92 (includes educational incentive per CBA) plus an additional 5% with EMT certification.
