Open Sky supports adults with developmental and intellectual challenges who are referred by the Department of Developmental Services. Our dedicated staff ensures that individuals have the necessary supports and skills to build a successful and satisfying life in the community while enabling individuals to lead meaningful and active lives.
As a Residential Counselor, you will support individuals diagnosed with a Developmental Disability to live as independently as possible, while providing evidence‑based treatment and care within a group living environment. You will provide guidance, support, and perform various levels of activities of daily living. Through implementing procedures that ensure the health, safety, and well‑being of individuals, you will help them live a healthy, productive, and independent life and advocate for their needs.
OtherKey Responsibilities
- Assist in developing individualized, person‑centered treatment plans and play a lead role in the daily implementation plans.
- Implement all procedures that ensure the health, safety, and well‑being of individuals and the general cleanliness and safety of the physical site.
- Assist individuals to access and/or provide transportation.
- Review and complete all required documentation.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, required.
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record, required.
- Reliability, willingness to learn, and openness to new opportunities.
- Excellent supervision (individual and group), professional development, and training opportunities.
- Generous paid time off plan – starting with 29 days (almost 6 weeks) in the first year, increasing to 32 days in the second year, and a maximum of 43 days (over 8 weeks).
