Overview
We are hiring a full‑time MDS Director to join our dynamic care team at Southeast Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in North Easton. As the MDS Director you plan, organize, and direct the MDS process, overseeing resident care plans through clinical assessment, review of residents’ medical history, personal interviews, and completion of MDS reports.
Pay RangeBase pay range: $48.00/hr – $52.00/hr salaried role with weekly pay.
Responsibilities- Coordination of the MDS process.
- Oversee ADL training for the facility and staff.
- Issue and deliver denial notices timely and appropriately.
- Complete and transmit all CMS approved item sets (MDS).
- Maintain current CMS regulatory guidelines as described in the RAI Manual.
- Comply with facility privacy policies and procedures and protect residents’ individual health information.
- Maintain Medicare meeting minutes per Medicare program agreement.
- Issue and deliver Medicare denial letters per CMS regulations.
- Assure appropriate management of residents’ Medicare/Insurance benefits.
- Maintain adequate systems to ensure appropriate documents support billed services.
- Other duties assigned by manager.
- Must possess a nursing program.
- Must possess a current and unencumbered RN license in Massachusetts.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must possess ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Must coordinate MDS systems, resident assessment, and care plans for each resident timely.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long‑term care.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and be willing to work harmoniously with professional and non‑professional personnel.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and be willing to handle difficult residents.
- Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
- Must communicate effectively to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.
- Must possess accurate and comprehensive assessment skills to ensure standards of nursing practice.
