Location: Marshall Corner
Full Time Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00pm-4:00am
Tasks and Responsibilities- Perform lab testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis and Coagulation.
- Check the quality control of each test prior to running and reporting patient results.
- Call work lists on the computer, edit results and enter test results into the computer.
- Confirm abnormal results prior to releasing and bring any "rare and improbable" results to the attention of a supervisor.
- Process specimens and log requisitions as needed.
- Review daily specimen management reports.
- Assist in maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies and ensure compliance with state requirements for documentation of lot numbers with quality control and specimen records.
- Troubleshoot problems (client, instrument, computer) as needed.
- Perform maintenance on the automated Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation and Urinalysis instrumentation as needed.
- Record the quality control and maintain the QC records on all assays performed.
- Ensure that QC is within appropriate limits and bring problems to supervisor.
- Review work lists and work from automated analyzers to ensure accuracy and timely reporting of patient results.
- Perform differentials and urine sediments as needed.
- Perform other tasks and procedures that are commensurate with education, training and abilities.
- Responsible for all clerical functions associated with specimen integrity, testing, identification and reporting of department testing.
