Job Description & How to Apply Below

Williamstown, Massachusetts, United States

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Group Facilitator to join our inpatient substance use disorder (SUD) treatment team. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience in behavioral health settings—such as Recovery Support Specialists (RSS) or Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs)—who are passionate about engaging clients through structured, non-clinical group programming.

The Group Facilitator plays a key role in enhancing the client experience by leading educational, recreational, and recovery-focused groups that support overall treatment goals and promote community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate non-clinical group sessions for clients in an inpatient setting (e.g., psychoeducation support, life skills, recreation, recovery-focused topics)
  • Lead structured daily activities that promote engagement, wellness, and peer connection
  • Support programming aligned with 12-step principles and recovery-oriented care
  • Collaborate with Clinical, Nursing, and Operations teams to ensure group activities complement treatment plans
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive group environment
  • Monitor client participation, behavior, and engagement during groups
  • Assist with milieu management and overall client supervision as needed
  • Document group attendance and participation per facility and compliance standards
  • Encourage positive coping skills, communication, and accountability among clients
Qualifications
  • Required:
    • Prior experience in a behavioral health or substance abuse treatment setting
    • Experience as a Recovery Support Specialist (RSS), Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), or similar direct care role
    • Experience facilitating or leading group activities (clinical or non-clinical)
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Preferred:
    • Knowledge of 12-Step programs and recovery principles
    • Experience in inpatient, detox, or residential levels of care
    • CPR/First Aid certification
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., RSS, peer support, or behavioral health credentials)
What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly pay + opportunities for overtime
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Career growth opportunities within a growing behavioral health organization
  • Supportive, mission-driven team environment
