Under limited supervision, the Materials Coordinator is cross‑trained to support all inventory control processes and procedures in the following inventory control areas: receiving, inventory control, cycle counting, and shipping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Responsible for labeling accuracy with proper description and information for shipping/receiving and inventory control purposes.
- Assist personnel where applicable.
- Drive company vehicle to drop off and pick up parts.
- Initiate and accurately complete required documentation such as certificates of compliance, packing lists, shipping labels, foreign invoices, daily shipping lists, and inventory labels.
- Perform all required duties with little or no supervision or assistance.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area, machines, tools, and equipment as part of the 5S program.
- Follow material requisitioning procedures for kitting (issuance) of raw materials and moving of all raw material and work‑in‑process materials.
- Follow all lot control procedures as defined by the Q.A. Department.
- Print work order/job travelers as needed.
- Perform material transactions as required, including issuing material to jobs.
- Monitor material transactions for accuracy and maintenance of traceability.
- Review completed jobs for transaction integrity.
- Follow all instructions contained in work order packets, including MPRs, MPSs, and Work Instructions.
- Comply with work rules, including safety, health, quality system, and the Viant Quality Management System.
- High School Diploma preferred.
- 2‑3 years of prior related experience in an inventory control environment (receiving, inventory control, and shipping).
- Prior inventory control experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Familiarity with computer‑based inventory control systems (Oracle experience preferred).
- Strong decision‑making and organizational skills; ability to assimilate information quickly.
- Capability to assimilate Viant systems and procedures quickly.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced and evolving environment.
- Solid understanding of ISO and Quality System procedures.
- Complete all job‑specific required training.
- Perform duties to achieve overall business unit metrics.
- Compliance with all safety regulations; wear appropriate safety equipment as required in each area of the facility.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in a lean manufacturing environment a plus.
