Read Mail and Do Clerical Tasks with a Blind Woman in North Billerica!

Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (MABVI) invites volunteers to help a blind woman in North Billerica with reading mail and clerical tasks. This community‑based role allows you to make a positive impact in the life of a neighbor while developing a meaningful connection.

• Read mail and deliver it to the volunteer’s participant.
• Pay bills on behalf of the participant.
• Assist with internet and technology use.
• Provide medical transportation.
• Run grocery and other community errands.
• Participate in recreational activities such as guided walks or runs.
• Perform other clerical tasks as requested.

Volunteers typically devote 1‑2 hours per week or every other week, depending on the participant’s needs.

• Complete the MABVI Volunteer application.
• Finish the modular online MABVI Volunteer Training.
• Schedule a Zoom chat with an MABVI Volunteer Team member and submit a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check.
• Meet the MABVI Volunteer Team via Zoom or phone.
• Receive a match with a MABVI participant.
