Nursing Supervisor – Evening Shift
We are hiring a full-time evening Nursing Supervisor to join our dynamic care team at Berkshire Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Sandisfield. Shift is 3 p‑11 p. Weekly pay ranging from $44 to $51 an hour, depending on license. Includes shift differential.
This role requires direction of total nursing care activities during each shift under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services to ensure the highest degree of quality resident care.
Responsibilities- Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident.
- Participate in developing, updating, and communicating residents’ care plans.
- Assure staff is implementing care plans, performing care activities appropriately, and recognizing changes in resident status.
- Maintain current resident care plans on all residents under the nurse supervisor’s care.
- Follow physicians’ orders and render and/or assist with complete nursing care, treatments, dressings, and other physician orders.
- Transcribe physicians’ orders promptly and accurately.
- Review patient records daily to assure accuracy and completeness.
- Document comprehensive and complete nursing notes.
- Maintain accurate awareness of residents on the alert list and conduct RN assessments as needed.
- Document and report any unusual or significant findings; contact the physician when necessary.
- Administer medication according to procedure if applicable.
- Initiate any and all emergency procedures as necessary.
- Conduct oversight of Charge Nurse and CNA performances.
- Contribute to and promote positive resident and family relations.
- Other duties may be assigned by manager.
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN or RN in the state.
- CPR certified.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a hospital, long‑term care facility, or related health care facility.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Accurate and comprehensive assessment skills.
- Knowledge of restorative nursing and rehabilitation policies.
- Independent decision making when circumstances warrant such action.
- Tactful handling of personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long‑term care.
- Leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non‑professional personnel.
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary for providing quality care.
- Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and willingness to handle difficult residents.
- Ability to communicate effectively regarding emergency situations.
