Qualifications
  • Previous experience or training in a veterinary facility
  • Friendly, outgoing, “people‑oriented”
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Capable of cross‑training for front‑office duties; telephone and computer skills required

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and restrain animals during procedures
  • Use a stethoscope
  • Advise pet owners on proper care
  • Create and review treatment plans with clients
  • Demonstrate excellent relations with clients and pets in waiting area and exam rooms
  • Exceed client expectations of service
  • Provide compassionate nursing care for all patients
  • Housekeeping/maintenance of clinical areas
  • Perform some front‑desk duties as needed
  • Conduct a cursory examination of an animal
  • Recognize potential patient issues
  • Communicate findings clearly to the doctor
  • Record keeping
  • Fill prescriptions and dispense medications as prescribed by the doctor
Education and

Physical Requirements
  • Dependable attendance required
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
  • Must be willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure
  • Ability to walk, bend, stand, squat, or reach constantly during an 8‑hour day
