Overview

The responsibilities include but are not limited to taking food and beverage orders, retrieving and serving alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages, and serving food to guests according to resort specifications, courteously and efficiently. Assist with maintenance and cleaning of the restaurant area and equipment, and provide the highest levels of service and professionalism. Perform all duties and adhere to the Food & Beverage Service Standards.

Responsibilities
  • Thorough knowledge of food & beverage outlet operations including foods, beverages, service techniques, and guest interaction.
  • Be familiar with all resort services/features and local attractions in order to assist the guest.
  • Greets all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness and maintains positive guest relations at all times.
  • Anticipate the guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests; resolve guests' complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Take guest food & beverage orders utilizing suggestive upselling techniques.
  • Answers guest questions about food, beverages, and facilities accurately and in a friendly manner.
  • Provides the highest level of service in accordance with standards.
  • Identifies food orders when ready and delivers items to tables in a timely manner.
  • Remove soiled wares from tables and transport to designated area.
  • Present guests check and process payments; adhere to cash handling and credit policies/procedures; balance cash receipts.
  • Clean and reset table as soon as guest departs.
  • Develops relationships with guests.
  • Communicates with food and beverage staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintains professional relationships with all co‑workers.
  • Resolve guest complaints and concerns to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Answer outlet phone using correct greeting and telephone etiquette.
  • Follows checklists and standard operating procedures.
  • Prepares work area for opening, mid‑shift, or closing in accordance with company standards.
  • Complete side work during non‑busy hours.
  • Responsible for and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas and proper food handling.
  • Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all food & beverage menu items, including liquor brands, beers, and non‑alcoholic selections available.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of—and complies with— all department policies, service procedures and standards.
  • Serves alcoholic beverages in an appropriate manner consistent with company standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated guests and drunk driving.
  • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers’ excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the hotel & resort from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Constantly increase knowledge of food, beverages, and other products and services.
  • Performs related tasks and functions as requested by manager.
Additional Responsibilities

In addition to the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of additional supportive functions, with the percentage of time for each function determined by the manager.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of three (3) months of experience at a high‑end resort, hotel, or private club required.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for long periods of time.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a diverse team environment.
  • Must be able to work a schedule that includes holidays, weekends, and varied shift times.
  • Must be a service‑mindful individual with a positive attitude who truly enjoys helping others.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Successful applicant must pass a pre‑employment background check.
