Job Description

Position: Daybreak Staff Generalist

Program: Disability Services

Classification: Non-Exempt – 30 hours per week

Compensation: $23.00 - $27.60

Reports to: Daybreak Clubhouse Program Manager

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Daybreak Program Manager, the Daybreak Staff Generalist provides a variety of vocational, educational, recreational, and social rehabilitation services to members participating in the Daybreak Clubhouse Program. This role supports the work ordered day supporting members in developing skills, increasing independence, and fostering community engagement in alignment with the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation.

Job Duties
  • Participates in the development and implementation of individualized rehabilitation plans for all members served through the Daybreak Clubhouse Program.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with ICC staff, other MVCS program staff, and community provider agencies.
  • Provides ongoing support to members participating in the Daybreak Clubhouse Program, including those involved in transitional employment placements.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation, including social/recreational activity reports, attendance logs, and other data required by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) and/or MVCS.
  • Organizes and maintains digital files to ensure efficient access and recordkeeping.
  • Provides professional and courteous customer service when interacting with members, families, internal departments, MVCS programs, referral sources, and community service providers.
  • Assists in the planning, coordination, and facilitation of social/recreational activities, including activities held on weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
  • Adheres to all agency and departmental policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Provides transportation of members to and from the Clubhouse following Human Services Transportation (HST) requirements and standards in the agency van.
  • Provides transportation of members to/from activities and events in the community in the agency van including off-island travel.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions or in a clubhouse, vocational, or social rehabilitation setting strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable independent transportation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • CORI/SORI clearance and any other background checks as required by MVCS and regulatory agencies.
Skills And Competencies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build positive, supportive relationships with members, families, MVCS staff and DMH staff.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, including maintaining accurate records and digital files.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, members and with external service providers.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic proficiency with data entry and electronic recordkeeping.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and initiative in planning and facilitating rehabilitative activities and community-based events.
  • Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the importance of inclusion, equity, and trauma-informed care.
  • Commitment to member empowerment and recovery-oriented service models.
