JV Boys Soccer Coach

Responsible for leading a competitive developmental program that prepares student-athletes for the varsity level. This role focuses on refining technical skills, implementing tactical systems, and fostering a culture of sportsmanship and discipline. Key duties include planning and executing daily practices, managing game-day strategy, and ensuring the safety and academic eligibility of all players. The ideal candidate will serve as a mentor who balances high-performance standards with a positive team environment, working closely with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure program-wide consistency.

The JV Boys Soccer Coach must possess a deep technical understanding of the sport, specifically demonstrating mastery of NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) rules, including high-school-specific regulations regarding unlimited substitutions, bench decorum, and mandatory player departure for cautions. Candidates are required to hold a High School Diploma (Bachelor’s preferred) and must obtain essential certifications such as the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, First Aid, CPR, and AED.

Beyond technical skills, the role demands strong leadership to mentor student-athletes in sportsmanship and academic accountability, while ensuring all players meet equipment safety standards like NOCSAE-approved shinguards. Logistics-wise, the coach must have the physical stamina to lead outdoor sessions, the flexibility to attend evening games and travel, and the ability to pass all state-mandated background clearances and child safety training.
