Hume England - Activities Specialist - Activities - Seasonal

The purpose of the Winter Activities Specialist is to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ by the leading of safe and engaging recreational activities for campers and guests. Activities may include High Adventure, Archery, Axe Throwing, Paintball, Lifeguarding, Tubing, Broom Hockey, Escape Room, Mechanical Bull, and more. Responsible for activity & recreation setup or equipment preparation, overseeing scheduled activities, as well as clean up and repairs.

This is a casual position, working on an as-needed basis.

• Duties include instructing campers and guests on the use of activities which might include Snow Tube Runs, Ice Skating, Indoor Climbing Wall, Escape Room, and Recreation Games.
• Follow all safety procedures and directions provided by supervisors.
• Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude, contributing to a Christ-centered team environment.
• Represent Hume Christian Camps’ values and mission through conduct, attitude, and service.

• Experience in refereeing or camp activities preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age at start of employment to live in staff housing; or must be a High School graduate who is a dependent resident of Hume Lake in staff housing.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks and work outdoors or indoors as needed.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work under supervision.
• Must agree with and support Hume Christian Camps’ Statement of Faith.
• Must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel through word and deed.

• Ability to stand, walk, run, frequently lift up to 50 pounds, bend, climb, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Requires the physical ability to climb and support campers on the ropes course, along with the agility and endurance needed to oversee fast-paced outdoor programs.
• Live and work in extreme weather conditions, at high altitude, and in small living quarters.
