Position: Recreation Therapist
Facility: Parkview Care and Rehabilitation Center
Location: Massapequa, New York
Shift: Full-Time
Salary: $17/hour

Parkview Care and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an energetic and compassionate Recreation Therapist to join our team. In this role, you’ll help enrich the lives of our residents by planning and leading engaging recreational programs that support their physical, emotional, and social well‑being.

• Assess residents’ individual interests and abilities to design personalized activity programs.
• Plan, organize, and lead both group and one‑on‑one activities such as arts and crafts, games, music therapy, and exercise sessions.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to incorporate recreation therapy into residents’ overall care plans.
• Monitor participation and progress, adjusting programs as needed to ensure resident satisfaction and success.
• Create a warm, inclusive, and uplifting environment that fosters connection and joy.

• Previous experience in recreation or therapeutic activities (nursing home experience preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a positive, cheerful disposition.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Gmail.
• Must be fluent in English.
