Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in New York requiring Epic experience and weekend coverage.

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes those with COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule out
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:6 on days, 1:7 on nights, and 1:8 on weekends
• Shift schedule is 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Use of Epic EMR is required
• Responsibilities include care of patients with a variety of medical and telemetry needs
• Must be proficient in non-invasive airway management and use of nasal cannula and oxygen tanks
• Expected to utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
• Isolation precautions must be followed for applicable cases

• Active NY RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year Med/Surg Tele experience required
• BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Skills in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response/code teams, peripheral line care, oxygen delivery systems, and use of isolation precautions
• Locals must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• No first-time travelers accepted
