The EHS Coordinator plays a critical role for the manufacturing facility. The coordinator undertakes operational activities required to meet the Safety and Environmental Plan. Activities include facilitating the flow of health & safety information and programs, providing training on general EHS program requirements and completing EHS projects, audits and inspections. The position covers the afternoon shift (Monday – Friday 3pm – 12am) and pay rate $27.03/HR plus $0.75 shift differential.
- Participate in and set the example for an interdependent safety and environmental culture capable of achieving zero incidents and injuries.
- Administer behavior-based programs to create a brother's keeper safety culture
- Participate in incident and emergency response, investigation, root cause analysis
- Partner with employees and supervisor on the afternoon shift to complete investigations, identification of root causes for all incidents
- Gather and report safety and environmental metrics
- Conduct safety and environmental risk assessments and audits
- Administer near miss reporting and correction process (including tracking and closure)
- Support the employee PPE supply and distribution
- Support the environmental and safety communications processes (toolbox talks, communication boards, newsletters, etc.)
- Perform safety and environmental regulatory inspections on the afternoon shift (SWPPP, SPCC, Wastewater, LOTO, Confined Space, Egress, Machine Guarding, etc.)
- Maintain current knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and practices through networking and seminars
- Participate in implementation, administration and recordkeeping to ensure compliance with local, state and federal safety and environmental requirements including:
- Occupational Safety and Health Act (1910 Subparts A, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, Z and all reference standards)
- Emergency Planning and Community Right-To-Know Act (SARA 311/312 Tier II, Toxic Release Inventory)
- Clean Water Act (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System, Stormwater Pollution Prevention, Spill Control and Countermeasures, wastewater)
- Hazardous Material Transportation Act
- Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (hazardous and universal waste)
- Air Quality and Clean Air Acts (air permitting)
- Maintain reduce, reuse and recycle programs throughout the facility
- High school education or GED equivalent
- 2-5 years of job-related experience
