Job DescriptionDYS is seeking a General Activities Therapist 2 at Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Plans, conducts, implements and monitors general recreational, personal development, structured therapeutic and entertainment activities for youth
- Serves as a member of interdisciplinary team and analyzes, assesses, evaluates, defines and recommends group and or individual treatment goals and activities.
- Observes participants during activities.
- Serves in instructional capacity for youth.
- Prepares and maintains reports for treatment team regarding individual behavior and progress regarding individual recreational program activities.
- Prepares and maintains inventory records of equipment tools and materials.
- Prepares weekly activity schedule

Qualifications30 mos. exp. with coaching, personal training, &/or fitness instruction or 30 mos. exp. providing work direction to incarcerated persons & training &/or development.
-Or completion of associate degree in recreation; 12 mos. exp. in activity therapy or recreation.
-Or completion of undergraduate core program in recreation; 6 mos. exp. in activity therapy or recreation.
-Or 6 mos. exp. as General Activities Therapist 1, 44211.
