Position: Psychologist - 20% Supplement
The Opportunity…
DYS is seeking a licensed Psychologist to oversee facility behavioral healthcare functions. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a solid background and a passion to habilitate youth.
Specifically, the Psychologist will:
Develop and perform psychological assessments and evaluationsInterview, administer tests, score and interpret testsPrepare reports based on findingsFormulate treatment plans based on findings and develop and/or modify treatment as neededAttend unit treatment team meetings representing the psychological componentSubmit psychological impressions to teamConfer with institution professionals (e.g., psychiatrist, nurse, social worker, activities therapist, recreation supervisor, chaplain, superintendent, operations administrator) regarding programAssure compliance with certifying/accrediting/professional agencies (e.g., American Correctional Association, Department of Mental Health, American Psychological Association) requirementsProvide lead work/clinical supervision to student internsProvide and/or participate in individual, group, and/or family psychotherapy rehabilitation sessionsAssure documentation of activitiesPrepare reports as directed and/or required. Respond to emergency situations as needed. In some cases, perform lead work over contractual psychologistPreferred Qualifications…
Leadership, commitment to excellence, professionalism, strong interpersonal communication skills, good judgment of people and situations, change agent, excellent customer service, trauma-responsive, and solution driven.
License to practice psychology as issued by Ohio State Board of Psychology per Section 4732.12 or 4732.15 (A) of Ohio Revised Code.
