Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, answer questions courteously, recommend products, and thank guests for shopping.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual displays and current sales initiatives.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately using the Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system and ensure top‑notch guest service.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, escalating issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
- Promote Game Stop’s guest benefit programs such as reservations, trade‑in, and Pro Rewards.
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training associates in all job responsibilities.
- Observe associate performance, provide feedback to the Store Manager, and address unsatisfactory performance.
- Provide timely recognition and feedback to all associates; input written feedback into Workday/HR system.
- Ensure all associates complete onboarding, training, and compliance training prior to opening or closing a shift.
- Schedule associates, ensure breaks and meals are scheduled, and supervise staffing levels to achieve optimum guest service.
- Approve payroll, enter paid time off, and verify that associates are paid for all time worked.
- Maintain clean, organized, and merchandised store areas; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.
- Fulfill and ship Omni‑Channel orders daily.
- Protect company assets through effective inventory control and loss prevention practices; inspect associate packages at closing or shift end.
- Support team in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals.
- Count, balance, and reconcile daily POS transaction totals accurately.
- Verify shipments, record discrepancies, conduct inventories, and communicate to Store Manager.
- Process defectives, recalls, and stock pulls accurately and promptly.
- Maintain awareness of associate and guest safety; report injuries promptly.
- Assist in maintaining store records, manuals, and documents in an organized manner.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Consistently adhere to Game Stop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
- Adhere to all opening and closing procedures.
- Proof of identity and eligibility to work legally in the United States.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred, especially in business, marketing, merchandising or related field.
- At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
- At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge is preferred.

- Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
