Teacher Active is delighted to be working with an Outstanding mainstream primary school in Matlock to recruit a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant. This welcoming school prides itself on creating an inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to flourish, supported by a dedicated team who work together to help pupils achieve their very best.

The school is looking for a part-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join them every Thursday and Friday from September through to July 2027. You will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a wonderful non-verbal Year 1 pupil, helping to build confidence, encourage communication and create positive learning experiences while working closely with the class teacher and SEND team.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally within a primary school setting

• Experience working with non-verbal children on a 1:1 basis

• A calm, patient and nurturing approach

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• The ability to adapt activities to meet individual needs

• A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
