Clinical Services Manager - Theatre - Circle Health Group
We have an opportunity for a Clinical Services Manager - Theatre to join the team in the Theatres department at Bishops Wood Hospital in Middlesex.
OverviewThis is a full‑time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. The role holder will lead the theatre team in delivering outstanding patient care across all perioperative stages, including anaesthetics, surgery, and recovery. The role holder will foster a culture of compassion and respect through effective team engagement, communication, and support, support clinical development and maintain personal competence through continuous professional development and reflection, ensure patient safety is prioritised at all times, act as an advocate and speak up on any concerns regarding care or safeguarding, drive clinical standards through implementation of evidence-based practice, clinical audits, and adherence to regulatory requirements, lead by example and maintain infection control, documentation standards, and compliance with governance frameworks, ensure efficient delivery of theatre services through effective resource planning, scheduling and coordination, attract, develop and retain a high‑performing multidisciplinary theatre team, and maintain strong working relationships with consultants, anaesthetists and other key stakeholders to support seamless service delivery.

- Ensure patient safety is prioritised at all times, acting as an advocate and speaking up on any concerns regarding care or safeguarding.
- Drive clinical standards through implementation of evidence‑based practice, clinical audits, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Lead by example in maintaining infection control, documentation standards, and compliance with governance frameworks.
- Ensure efficient delivery of theatre services through effective resource planning, scheduling, and coordination.
- Attract, develop, and retain a high‑performing multidisciplinary theatre team.
- Maintain strong working relationships with consultants, anaesthetists, and other key stakeholders to support seamless service delivery.
- NMC or HCPC registered practitioner with perioperative leadership experience.
- Strong background in anaesthetics, scrub, or recovery within theatre settings.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and develop others.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with knowledge of labour management and workforce efficiency tools.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and clinical decision‑making abilities.
- Experience managing theatre services within private healthcare or NHS environments.
- Understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and business development in a clinical setting.
- Experience with theatre scheduling software and electronic patient record systems.
- Evidence of continued professional development in leadership, quality improvement, or advanced perioperative care.
- Salary:
Up to £65,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification). - 25 days holiday per year + bank holidays, increasing to 30 days with service.
