Biomedical Equipment Technician II

Location: Matthews, NC

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Biomedical Equipment Technician II to join our team on a contract basis in Matthews, NC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and calibration of a wide range of biomedical equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on biomedical equipment and medical devices including hospital beds.
• Calibrate and test equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
• Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately in the equipment management system.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to address equipment issues and provide technical support as needed.
• Assist in the installation and setup of new biomedical equipment.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repair.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements related to biomedical equipment.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with technological advancements.

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of biomedical equipment, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring devices.
• Experience with equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair techniques.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards such as FDA, Joint Commission, and OSHA.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Certification such as CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) preferred.
• Must pass background and drug screen.

This position requires working in a healthcare environment, including patient care areas. The candidate must be able to handle physical demands such as lifting equipment and working in confined spaces.

This is a contract position based in Matthews, NC. Duration and terms will be discussed during the interview process.
