Novant Health Sleep Medicine - Matthews is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant!

The role of the Certified Medical Assistant is to coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe, quality and cost-effective service and care for the people within the practice population.

Job responsibilities include:

• Patient Rooming:
  Efficiently prepare exam rooms and escort patients for timely appointments.
• Inbox Management:
  Manage electronic in-baskets, including sending messages to providers and patients, processing prescription refills, and responding promptly to inquiries.
• Order Reviews:
  Verify and process provider orders to maintain accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborative Support:
  Work closely with clinical staff to ensure smooth operations and deliver exceptional patient care in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED, required. Must be a graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program;
  Medical Assistant curriculum must include pharmacology and medication administration. Certification/registry must be obtained by the last day of the sixth month of hire, and an education agreement signed. Certification/registry accepted: CMA with the American Associate of Medical Assistants (AAMA), CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA), RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), American Allied Health (AAH), and RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA).
• Experience:
  
  Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA, or CCMA, required.
  • Current state driver’s license (Palliative Care Only), required.
• Additional Skills (required):
  Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
