- As a Residential Youth Care Specialist you will be expected to provide care, supervision, structure, and to be an advocate that provides and builds a therapeutic relationship with the youth in your care. You will be surrounded by team members committed to the same goal, as well as various functional professionals partnering with you in our youth’s success.
- A typical day as a Residential Youth Care Specialist involves day‑to‑day care of youth while in residence (including fun!), working with clients from 10‑17 years old, males or females who are highly acute and potentially aggressive, supporting the treatment process of each youth, and completing other tasks as assigned by your Supervisor.

, you will work the following rotating schedule:
Shift: 7pm‑7am
Week 1:
Monday, Thursday, Friday
Week 2:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
- This position requires mandatory attendance at a 4‑day, 9am‑5pm Therapeutic Crises Intervention training program prior to engaging with clients.
- All residential staff must pass a Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training and demonstrate proper physical Therapeutic techniques and holds.
- Starting Pay Range: $17.00‑$19.50 hourly

Minimum
Qualifications/Requirements:
- BA/BS Degree in the Human Services field strongly preferred
- High School diploma/GED and two years’ relevant experience working with youth will be considered in lieu of BA/BS degree
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software, excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for working with youth
- All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test, and an extensive background check is required.

Physical demands While performing the duties of this job, employees are required to walk, sit, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Employees will perform a wide variety of physical tasks such as standing, walking, running, stooping, bending, climbing stairs and lifting of individuals, which requires strength, coordination, endurance, and agility.
The employee must be agile enough to control and rapidly extricate him/her and children and youths from buildings in case of an emergency. The employee must be capable of running a distance as required in the apprehension of a fleeing youth.
