We're hiring an Accounting Intern to support our Credit and Collections team while gaining real‑world experience in accounting, customer accounts, and business operations. You'll work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to meaningful projects that impact daily operations across The Gerken Companies.

This is a full‑time summer internship with the flexibility to be based out of our Napoleon, Ohio or Maumee, Ohio location. Whether you're pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, this internship offers valuable experience that goes beyond classroom learning.

• Process credit card payments and assist with customer payment management
• Help investigate and resolve customer account questions and accounting discrepancies
• Review invoices, statements, credits, and supporting documentation
• Assist customers with credit applications and verify information
• Maintain customer records within the ERP system
• Work closely with accounting and sales teams to support smooth operations
• Maintain tax documents, W‑9s, Certificates of Insurance, and related records
• Participate in customer communication regarding account maintenance
  
  Gain exposure to credit, collections, customer service, and accounting functions
• Develop professional communication and problem‑solving skills

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and desire to gain real‑world business experience
