Summary:
The Lending Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of professional accounting duties with the principal areas of responsibilities being mortgage, business and student loan accounting, charged off loans, delinquency, recoveries, provision and the allowance for credit loss calculation. Formal training in accounting principles and practices will be utilized in providing information, analysis, and input into credit union product accounting. This position also acts as a resource for managers and the credit union.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Thorough understanding of Credit Union financial operations, processes, and reports. Strong understanding of the Credit Union’s activities including cars, loan and share changes and shared branching.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
Three to five years of accounting experience preferred.
